Signature Weaver Spotlight: Designed By Geeks

Signature Weaver Spotlight: Designed By Geeks

The inspiration behind every design can be subtle or abstract but oftentimes, our community loves to wear their fandom loud and proud. Such is the case with our Signature Carriers and accessories made with DBG BabyWe value the opportunity to work with a small business like DBG, which stands for "Designed by Geeks", because it gives us an opportunity to showcase their extraordinary designs. We asked Kassondra and Marisa to share a little bit about how DBG Baby began.

This superhero origin story starts with a couple of geeky gals who met in an online forum and quickly learned they had a lot in common. Besides many shared fandoms, Marisa, a Graphic Designer, and Kassondra, a Web Developer, both had a love for crafting in their spare time. They decided to join forces and create some fun designs based on many of their own interests in comics, mythical stories, and other general "geeky" things.

Initially, Marisa created our awesome images and Kassondra digitized them for computerized sewing machines. DBG opened up its digital shop in March 2014 with just applique and embroidery designs for sale. Over the years they have added paper crafting and cutting files, posters and prints, clothes, accessories, and home goods. They launched a woven collection in January 2017 with woven wraps and tote bags. After adding blankets and accessories made locally, Kassondra and Marisa now lovingly refer to our website as a geeky one-stop department store!
